About
I build and run direct-to-consumer commerce. Mostly on Shopify Plus, mostly for brands where the storefront is the business.
I started on the brand side. I co-founded a luxury skincare company in Dallas and spent nine years growing it from $300K to $5M, which meant doing everything: buying, merchandising, inventory, three retail stores, and the entire e-commerce stack. I learned commerce by being responsible for the number at the end of the month.
Then I moved to the agency side. Three years running Shopify Plus builds, migrations, and international expansions across more than ten accounts at once. Health, cycling, food, luxury. That is where I got deep in the technical layer: checkout extensibility, Shopify Scripts, Markets, subscription architecture, and the app ecosystem that most stores are quietly held together by.
I still work with that agency part-time, so the Shopify Plus work is current and not a chapter that closed. Alongside it I take freelance projects and build things of my own. LockerDrop is a Shopify app I wrote that connects Harbor Lockers to checkout for 24/7 pickup. I taught myself enough Node, Postgres, and React to ship it.
The useful combination
I have sat in the founder's seat and the vendor's seat. I know what it costs when a migration slips, because I have been the client waiting, and I have been the one explaining. That tends to make me a straight talker about timelines.

Before commerce
Seven years at Universal Pictures in film sales and distribution, and before that, publicity for Warner Bros. theatrical releases. I still pay closer attention to box office numbers than is strictly necessary.
